I guess I did not know that you had been in the Air Force! Tom and I were stationed at Bitburg Air Base for 3 years when we were first married. It was just wonderful and our daughter, Erika, was born there. No career for Tom though. We returned to little Olympia to settle in. My job at the college was ordering books for the classes and it was really a wonderful job. I work part-time in a little bookstore downtown and really like it. Life is good and it looks like it really is for you too. Three years ago, I had breast cancer but am cancer free now. That one was tough but it had to be done!
Great to hear from you Julie. I will check in again!
Love,

I think all of the Ticknors are related, although I didn't know it back then. I've been doing some genealogy research lately, and have discovered I'm related to all sorts of unlikely people - royalty, horse thieves, etc. I knew you had married Tom Malone but didn't know you were divorced. I sat behind him in the fourth grade, and he used to turn around and tell me quite shocking jokes. I don't know what a textbook manager is, but it sounds impressive. Do you still sing? I can hear your voice saying, "I wonder as I wander out under the sky - - - " I ended up in Florida after 20 years in the Air Force, then worked for the state for another 15 years. Good to hear from you!Hi Wendy,

Your farm looks so wonderful! I live in an apartment in Olympia, have four grandchildren, retired from my position last year as Textbook Manager at The Evergreen State College. I married Tom Malone but divorced years ago and I have a partner who lives across town. How did you end up in Florida? Wish you could join us at a breakfast. We are LOUD!

I'd forgotten all about them for many years and about 2 years ago I decided to place all old photos I had from me, my husbands family and my family, about 2 thousand images into albums in chronological order. To tell the truth it was a bit depressing but I got them all in order. I came accross some odd Polaroids taken in Moses Lake about 1959 of Grammpa Ticknor, Emma, my mom, your mom, and Janet. Your mom and Emma are giving each other the wierdest look. There are a few of your mom and Viola puffing on cigs and they look very happy.I’ll see if I can scan them and send them to you. A couple of them are Polaroids that are rather odd compostions. You'd have to see them to know what I mean. Polaroids have a strange quality. The human subjects reveal alot of emotions they would hide in regular photos. Of course no one takes Polaroids anymore in the digital age.
All that work with horses, gardens and other critters have kept you slim and trim. As for the Finnish skin in my case I got more of my mom's Italian olive tone. We finally have some sunny warm days up here in the nothwest corner. All those cold dark days in June were making me shack wacky!I have some old pics of your mom taken in the 50’s.
